John C. Herbers
As CEO of the DTC|Greenwood Village Chamber of Commerce, John brings over 40 years of multiple industry business experience in start-ups, turnarounds, and senior management roles. He has run companies in over a dozen industries, nationally and internationally, public and private. In addition to his children, Grant, Madison, daughter-in-law Krystyn, and grand-daughter, his greatest passion is to advocate and help individuals and businesses create jobs and economic prosperity, and assist young professionals with their career development.
In addition to his role at the Chamber, John is CEO of Foodie Fuel, Inc., a healthy snack food company.
John’s executive experience allows him to assist firms of various sizes with strategic issues surrounding finance, planning, organization, sales, and marketing.
Past positions include President, Imerica Life and Health; Co-Founder, MHM Partners, LLC, Co-Founder and CEO, Integrated Financial Systems, Inc. (IFS); Executive Vice President at Convergent Communications where he ran national operations and participated in an IPO underwritten by Goldman Sachs and listing on NASDAQ. John has also been CEO, Computer Resources Corporation/NCS; Senior Vice President, International Operations, Halozone Technologies; Chairman and CEO, Trivest Corporation; and CEO of Clinton Whiteley Associates, a regional advertising and marketing firm.
Throughout his career John has been a member of, and served on, numerous business and civic boards and organizations. He helped found 501(c)(3) organizations including The Landmark Scholarship Foundation and Rollin’ Dreams Foundation. He is the President of the Landmark Homeowners Association, Past-President of The Rotary Club of Denver Southeast, Past-President of the Denver Southeast Rotary Foundation, former Board member of The Denver Crime Victims Center, and a Senior Partner in the Partners Program for disadvantaged youth. He is a graduate of the Denver Police Academy, serving 4 years as a Denver Reserve Police Officer and is a licensed private pilot. Mr. Herbers resides in Greenwood Village, Colorado with his wife, Evanka.
Chairman of the Board
Mike currently serves as President of Sinnett Investments, LLC after a 40 year career in banking, most recently with NBH Bank in Greenwood Village. Mike’s leadership experience span multiple facets of the banking industry including: community banking, sales, business development, marketing, training, lending, project management, and administrative leadership. Past positions include leadership roles at UMB Bank and the Federal Reserve Bank. Over his career, Mike has been active in numerous chambers, service clubs, trade associations, and civic activities.
Mike holds a degree in Finance & Economics from Rockhurst University (Kansas City, MO), and attended the Graduate School of Banking, University of Colorado and the BAI Graduate School of Retail Banking, University of Wisconsin.
Mike and his wife Mary Anne reside in Littleton with their great dane, Kika. They spend their free time chasing their 6 active grandchildren to baseball games, ballet recitals, and Westernaires.
Past Board Chairman, Golf Tournament Chair
Neal Gold, an independent Health Insurance and Benefits Broker is licensed and certified with all carriers in Colorado servicing the Business, Individual, Medicare and Workplace Benefits markets.
Focusing on client suitability, budget and simplifying processes and procedures for businesses and employees, Neal enables a smooth and painless implementation experience.
Leadership experience in national and international organizations and his relationship-driven style are instrumental in elevating the Chamber to its next level of growth and effectiveness in the community. His vision is to have our Chamber known as the business leaders’ organization providing high member value. Neal highly encourages members to participate in events and committees, has been a board member for 7 years and is Chair of the annual Charity Golf Tournament.
DTC Young Pro’s Chair Elect
Originally from New Mexico, Jackie Gonzales has worked in the Denver Tech Center | Greenwood Village community for over 4 years. As a local mortgage banker, Jackie has found her niche in helping neighbors and individuals buy their dream homes as well as leverage the growing equity the area provides. Joining the Young Professional board in February 2014 as the Membership Engagement Chair, Jackie works to foster new partnerships within the community of young professionals.
Jackie loves living in Colorado and enjoys mountain biking and skiing in the Rockies.
Entrepreneur and technology enthusiast, Eriq Cook serves on the board of the DTC | Greenwood Village Chamber of Commerce for Technology and Communications since 2012. As a Colorado native, Eriq has supported the Denver Tech Center & Greenwood Village business communities for over 16 years. Eriq currently owns and operates TEQ Media Group, a Colorado-based website design & development company, and TEQ Computer Solutions, providing computer consulting services since 2001. With his passion for people, diversity and community, Eriq enthusiastically enjoys working with the Chamber to help communicate and grow the Chamber’s vision and values.
Young Professionals Chair
A native of the DTC|Greenwood Village area, Justin remains a resident and an active community member. He has served on the DTC Young Pro’s leadership team since the group was reestablished in May 2013 and has helped spearhead a mentorship program which pairs young professional members with senior executives and business owners. The Mentorship Program continues to grow at a rapid pace as mentors and mentees alike have shared results of personal and business development as well as an enjoyment of the overall mentoring experience.
Justin works for UBS Financial Services as a third generation investment professional. In partnership with his father, the Nimock Wealth Management Group focuses on retirement and estate planning, investment management, and financial goal analysis.
Outside of the quality time spent with his wife and daughter, Justin is an avid golfer and enjoys playing softball and poker.
Annie Carlon is the Treasurer for the Chamber and is currently the VP of Transactional Accounting for Stage 1 Financial, overseeing all transactional accounting functionalities and team members. She holds a B.S.B.A., emphasis in Finance, from the University of Colorado.
A true entrepreneur, Annie has achieved the ultimate success of building a strong business, Abaci Financial, which was later acquired by Stage 1 Financial. Abaci Financial was launched as a bookkeeping and payroll company designed to support the franchise industry. Prior to that, she had 7 years’ experience working for a franchisor managing a franchise support call center and a financial support team for franchisees.
Annie is active in her church and chaired a committee to install a school garden at her kids’ elementary school.
Annie is committed to sharing her time with the DTC Chamber and believes their mission is in line with current challenges facing business professionals today.
Golf Tournament Chair
Jennifer Evans serves on the Golf Tournament Committee for the DTC|Greenwood Village Chamber of Commerce. Upon graduation from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Degree in Business Management, Jennifer has been involved in the private security industry. She has held various management and customer service roles with Advantage Security, a Colorado family owned and operated company. Jennifer brings high energy, organization and a positive attitude into everything she does. She has involved herself with several non-profit and industry specific organizations currently serving on Boards such as Metro Denver Crime Stoppers and the Mile- Hi Chapter of the American Society for Industrial Security, proving to be an asset to any team she is involved with.
Jennifer, her husband Sonny, son, daughter and puppy Lucy happily call the DTC area their home.
Melissa Pieters is a Partner / Owner of Financial Foundation Group. Committed to serving the community and her clients, her goal is to always exceed expectations and to foster long term relationships. As an independent financial firm, she represents her clients and their interests rather than any specific company. With 10 years’ experience in the financial services she is passionate about taking the worry out of people’s financial lives, insuring loved ones are taken care of when adversity strikes, and being able to deliver the news that people can retire, or provide assistance in their time of need.
Melissa’s values are very simple – treat people the way you would like to be treated. Be kind and generous and true to yourself. She believes in giving back to the world, being there for people and making a difference. She thinks hard work and financial success should be rewarded but not at the expense of your family.
Currently is the Membership + Education Chair, Melissa has been an active Chamber board member for several years. She has chaired numerous successful community events and strives to add the same value to other Chamber members as the Chamber has provided to her. She is passionate about involving members in the Chamber as well as connecting people who can add value to one another.
Melissa lives in Parker with her husband, Art, and their two beautiful kids.
Amy Jewett Sampson
Amy Jewett Sampson was named a member of the board of directors for the DTC|Greenwood Village Chamber of Commerce in April 2015. She is charged with building strategic communications efforts along the South Metro Denver business corridor through building partnerships and alliances with key stakeholder groups. A successful business owner, political activist and community leader, Amy is known for her exceptional communications skill and media acumen.
Her boutique strategic public relations and external affairs firm, Sampson PR, is well respected among C-Level executives, the media, and community influencers. Sampson PR has been instrumental in elevating public awareness for many of the firm’s clients including Wal-Mart, Children’s Hospital Colorado, YMCA, the International Law Firm Greenberg Traurig (GT), Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU), and others.
Amy experience ranges from managing media for trade missions to Europe, Asia and Mexico; and top-level campaigns and initiatives including MSU Denver’s Aerospace and Engineering Sciences initiative and GT’s Great Minds Great Hearts philanthropic campaign. In addition spearheading community engagement opportunities and managing media surrounding controversial political and corporate crises are all part of Amy’s portfolio.
She served as a gubernatorial spokesperson and senior policy adviser to the 40th Governor of Colorado where she worked closely with key leaders in Colorado and Washington, D.C. — collaborating with the offices of former Secretary of State Colin Powell, the United States President’s Office of Faith-Based Initiatives, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to name a few.
SummerFest + Taste Of Committees
Marty Veres is the Assistant to the President for Stevinson Automotive which is a family owned and operated group of Automobile dealerships in the Denver Metro Area. She has been with the family owned group for 32 years.
Marty has been on the DTC|Greenwood Village Board of Directors since November 2014 and concentrates on the annual Summerfest and Taste of Greenwood Village events.
Marty is a native of Colorado and enjoys living in the Colorado lifestyle, with its mountains, hiking, biking and all there is to do outside!
Taste of Co-Chair
“Intensely passionate” is one of the best ways to describe Gina Dickerson with regard to restaurant marketing and consultation. Renowned for a signature style of excellence and elegance, Gina has been the Co-Chair of The Taste of Greenwood Village since 2012, reinforcing the event as the premiere culinary experience.
Gina’s expertise includes restaurant marketing /consultation, public speaking, event planning/management and sales of the intangible luxury experience. Gina is a “visionary” when it comes to hospitality marketing, constantly refining her signature as “the best of the best!”.
Today, Gina serves on the board of directors for the DTC|Greenwood Village Chamber of Commerce, remains active with Junior League of Denver, is a graduate of Leadership Denver, is an active public speaker and of course maintains her commitment to excellence in the areas of restaurant marketing and consulting.
Board Member, Taste of Greenwood Village Chair
A new member to the Board, Bryan Parises currently serves as Senior Vice President/Regional Manager for Community Banks of Colorado’s Business Banking division. With over 15 years in the Banking industry, Bryan understands that the key to a vibrant and growing community is rooted in the foundation of a strong business core. Bryan currently lives in Parker with his wife Stephanie and their 3 children. Bryan enjoys the Colorado outdoors-camping, hiking and golfing. Bryan is excited to serve his community through his work with the DTC|Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.
